Biography

Steve Birks is a singer-songwriter hailing from Warwickshire, England. His cleverly crafted songs, raw voice and thought provoking lyrics combine to create his original organic rootsy sound. 
 
His sound has been likened to greats such as Steve Earle, Jason Isbell and Neil Young, and this has earned him great recognition across the UK’s music scene including support slots with Ash, Dodgy and Mark Morriss form the Bluetones. As well as festival appearances at the Bugjam, Foxton Locks festival, Leamington peace festival and in 2017 the Stratford river festival, where he played to a strong crowd of 25,000.
Last year Steve was signed to independent record label “Old Hotel Records” where he worked closely with veteran producer Kenneth J Nash on the recording of his debut album “Long time comin’ round”.

Steve’s debut album was well received, earning himself great reviews from Maverick magazine, RnR, Divide and conquer and also gaining airtime from BBC introducing, local community radio and Valley FM in Australia. 

Steve has successfully toured his debut album up and down the country and this year is returning to the studio to record his highly anticipated second album, set to be released in the summer of 2020.
