Biography

Steve Birks is a singer/songwriter hailing from Warwickshire, England. Drawing on his influences (Neil Young, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Jason Isbell and Steve Earle) his cleverly crafted songs, honest approach and organic rootsy sound is making waves across the UK’s music scene.

Steve has support shows under his belt with artists such as Dodgy and Mark Morriss (the Bluetones). He is a regular name on festival line ups across the country, and in 2017 played to a strong crowd of 25,000 at the Stratford river festival.

This year Steve was signed to independent record label “Old Hotel Records” where he worked closely with veteran producer Kenneth J Nash on the recording of his debut album.

“Long time comin’ round” is the appropriately named debut release from Steve. The album was given the name due to it being three years in the making, there is also a track on the album bearing the same name.

The record is a collection of stories, some character based and some inspired by his own life as a hard working family man. All the tracks have been recorded live with no overdubs. One voice, one guitar and bags full of raw emotion.

“Long time comin’ round” is available to purchase now.
